Our developer Lukas successfully completed his dual training with us and is now employed at CIB. In his very personal success story, he tells about his entry at CIB and gives applicants tips for the start.
Hello Lukas! How did you come to CIB?
I had started studying computer science for a bachelor’s degree at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences, but then realized that I lacked practical relevance. Because of this, my motivation waned. Then the bad grades came and I was forced to reorient myself.
At the employment agency, I came across an offer from CIB for dual training. The department focused on programming. I was particularly interested in the research project deepER- by CIB in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute. That’s what I did then! My apprenticeship is called “IT specialist for application development”. I was able to shorten the training to two years because I have a high school diploma. I am very happy to have taken this opportunity at CIB.
Congratulations! In which areas are you now active at CIB?
I actually work at CIB in the AI team and deal with CIB deeper. My focus is on the post-processing of deepER and the result in the neural network. I also create training data – this is quasi-artificial data that should look as realistic as possible in order to train an AI.
How do you feel about the cooperation? And what do you do in your free time?
The cooperation is great. We sometimes go to the beer garden together in the evening and talk a bit. It’s nice when you can spend time with your colleagues outside of the office.
In my spare time I am one of 4 leaders in the Boy Scouts (DPSG) and lead a group of 17 children aged 7-10 years.
What would you like to say to other applicants at CIB?
At first I was incredibly excited because of the new impressions and experiences at CIB. There’s a lot to learn, don’t let that put you off.
Thank you for the interview. We wish you continued success!
